Terms of use
Last updated 22 October 2026. By using Fair Pay Calculator you agree to these terms. Fair Pay Calculator is run by Dot Infy, an Australian business.
Not financial, tax or legal advice
Fair Pay Calculator gives general information and estimates only. It is not financial product advice, tax advice, legal advice or industrial relations advice. We are not licensed to give financial product advice, we are not registered tax agents or BAS agents, and we are not a law firm. We do not know your full situation, goals or needs, and nothing on this site takes them into account.
Do not make a financial, tax, employment or legal decision based only on a figure from this site. Check it with the Australian Taxation Office, the Fair Work Ombudsman, Services Australia, a registered tax agent, a licensed financial adviser or a lawyer, as the case needs.
Not affiliated with any government agency
Fair Pay Calculator is an independent website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Fair Work Ombudsman, the Fair Work Commission, the Australian Taxation Office, Services Australia or any other government agency. We use their published pay guides, awards and tax tables as sources and link to them so you can check our figures. The official calculators and advice lines are theirs, not ours.
What Fair Pay Calculator is
Fair Pay Calculator estimates take-home pay, tax and super, and compares shift pay with the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020 [MA000009], the Restaurant Industry Award 2020 [MA000119] and the Fast Food Industry Award 2020 [MA000003], using Fair Work pay guide rates effective 1 July 2026. It is a calculator.
Estimates only
- Your real entitlement can differ. It depends on your classification, any enterprise agreement or contract, overtime, allowances, rules we have not built yet, and your actual hours.
- Tax, Medicare, study loan, super and Family Tax Benefit figures are estimates. Your tax return, your payslip and Services Australia decide the real amounts.
- Rates and thresholds change each year. We try to update them promptly but cannot promise they are current on any given day.
- Check anything important with the Fair Work Ombudsman (13 13 94, fairwork.gov.au), the ATO or a qualified adviser before you act on it.
Employers
The roster check helps you spot pay below the award before payroll. It does not certify that your business complies with workplace law, and a shortfall shown by the tool is a prompt to check, not a finding that anyone was underpaid. Employers remain responsible for paying the right amounts.
Your information
Numbers you enter stay in your browser and are not sent to us. The privacy policy and the cookies and storage page give the details.
Using the site
Please follow the acceptable use rules. In short, don't overload the site, don't use it to break the law, and don't enter other people's details unless you're entitled to hold them. We may block access that breaks the rules.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss from relying on an estimate, and our total liability for any claim is limited to resupplying the service, which is free.
Changes and law
We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
